10 Days. 3 Learning Areas.
1 Grand Celebration.
A playful, story-led technology adventure for young children. They start with stories and Block-Based Coding, move on to Electronics that make lights and sounds respond, and finish by programming a robot through a Dasara-themed world. Every activity has a story, a visible result and a small challenge to solve.
How every creation they make works
The simple idea children discover over 10 days
Four Skills, Learned Through Play
At this age, success means confidence with technology and a willingness to experiment, not memorising technical terms. Children first make something happen, then learn a simple name for what they discovered.
Creative Confidence
Children turn an idea into a story, an animation, a model or a working creation.
Computational Thinking
They see that instructions need an order, and that different instructions give different results.
Maker Confidence
They get comfortable connecting simple components and watching their code change something in the real world.
Problem Solving
They learn that a mistake is useful information: look at what happened, change one thing and try again.
From Royal Invitation to Grand Showcase
Every mission is part of one story: children help prepare the Grand Dasara Celebration. They start with familiar storytelling, move on to physical making and finish with robotics, so the challenge grows a little each day.
Imagine & Create
Block-Based CodingThe Royal Invitation
Meet the Dasara story and make an invitation travel from a character to the palace using movement blocks.
The Palace Comes Alive
Bring the palace to life with characters, lights, music and actions that repeat.
The Grand Procession
Program a Dasara procession so characters move in the right order and at the right time.
Touch & Make
ElectronicsLight Up the Palace
Build a simple palace model, learn safe connections and make the first celebration lights.
The Celebration Signal
Press a button to start a celebration light pattern or sound.
The Palace Gatekeeper
Build a gate that responds to a visitor. Practise "when this happens, make that happen."
Program & Explore
RoboticsMeet Rocky, the Royal Elephant
Program Rocky the robot to travel from the palace to the celebration ground using forward, turn and stop commands.
The Jamboo Savari Challenge
Guide Rocky along a Dasara route with turns, stops and obstacles. Plan, test and fix the route.
Invent & Celebrate
Prepare the Grand Dasara
Teams pick a celebration mission and use what they learned in coding, electronics and robotics to prepare one part of the Grand Dasara.
Grand Dasara Makers' Showcase
Children show their favourite creation to parents, complete one final maker challenge and explain what they built and what they changed when it didn't work.
Technology That Feels Like an Adventure
Designed around how 6–8 year olds think, move and focus, not as a shorter version of a class for older children.
Story First, Terms Later
Children enter the world of Dasara through characters and missions. They learn sequencing and cause-and-effect without feeling like they are in a programming class.
Discovering, Not Copying
Children don't just follow steps to finish a model. They try something, see what happens, change one thing and explain the result.
Three Technologies, One Story
Block-Based Coding for digital storytelling, Electronics to connect code to real objects, and Robotics to make programming visible through movement.
Small Wins, Every Session
Short challenges with instant results. Children get a small success before they take on the next challenge.
Foundations Before AI
Sequencing, cause-and-effect, making and debugging are the skills children need before more advanced AI ideas make sense.
Every Child Shows & Explains
Each mission follows a short maker cycle, and every child gets a moment at the final showcase to share what they discovered.
Storyteller → Maker → Robot Navigator
On Day 10, parents don't just hear that their child attended a workshop. They watch their child demonstrate what they made, explain how it works and share one problem they solved along the way.
Storyteller
Days 1–3- Characters that move because the child gave instructions
- An animated Dasara palace with sound and repeat actions
- A procession where everything happens in the right order
Maker
Days 4–6- A palace model with real celebration lights
- A button that starts a light pattern or sound
- A gate that responds when a visitor arrives
Robot Navigator
Days 7–8- Forward, turn and stop commands for Rocky the robot
- A planned route through the Jamboo Savari
- Testing the route and fixing it when Rocky goes wrong
Questions Parents Ask
Does my child need coding experience?
No. The journey begins with stories, movement and simple visual instructions. No prior coding experience is needed.
Is this too technical for a 6-year-old?
No. The technical depth is kept low on purpose. Children work with real objects, short challenges, visual blocks and instant feedback instead of abstract programming ideas.
Why three different technologies?
Each one gives a different experience. Block-Based Coding builds digital storytelling, Electronics connects code to physical objects, and Robotics makes programming visible through movement.
Is the goal to teach AI?
For this age group, the priority is building the foundation: sequencing, cause-and-effect, making, debugging and confidence. Children need these skills before more advanced AI ideas become meaningful.
Can parents see what their child has made?
Yes. Day 10 ends with the Grand Dasara Makers' Showcase, where every child demonstrates a creation and explains how it works.
My child is 8 or older. Is there a camp for them?
Yes. Children aged 8–16 can join the AI Tinker Garage Dasara Camp, where they build smart gadgets with Arduino and micro:bit and finish with an AI vision project.
